2009- My year of abject analysis paralysis. According to some random online blog
- Analysis Paralysis is where you can’t make any forward progress because you bog yourself down in details, tweaking, brainstorming, research and … anything but just getting on with it.
That has been my 2009. Analysis paralysis. Planning is good, over analyzing is bad and whilst you are sitting down being paralyzed by your analysis, (procrastinating) - LIFE is passing you by.
It’s been an interesting year..and an interesting decade. For me, this decade has sort of mimicked the first cycle of a sine wave. I say “sort of” because whilst I am neither “up” or “down”, I have experienced substantial growth, knowledge and understanding from various joyous and sad experiences.
I am thankful for many things, disappointed about many things but I am glad to be healthy & alive, today at this moment. Thankful for a roof to sleep under, food to eat , for hopes and dreams. I’m also thankful for Chinese takeouts & movies, ..not appreciating the extra pounds though.
I look forward to the new year with high hopes, not because everything in my life is going to fall in place at the stroke of midnight (although..that would be nice) but because for the first time in a long time, I finally understand what is important. My happiness, my faith and my loved ones.
Tomorrow is going to be the same as today, only I’ll have a plan in place that I can follow with faith as I continue to find the depth of my own self, my own peace, my own happiness. They say it takes 30 continuous days to break a habit..so I’ll take it a day at a time and i have faith that my habit of analyzing & procrastinating everything to death will be replaced by a much healthier one.
So here’s to a new year and the final year of this decade. Here’s to believing in myself again. Here is to doing things that makes me happy. Here’s to wisdom & growth. Here’s to making the most of everyday. Here is to fearlessness. Here’s to peace of mind
Here’s to me because I’ve survived one hell of a year
Happy New Year! Have a wonderful 2010!
